Lady Gaga planning Italian earthquake donation

Lady Gaga has vowed to donate money to help recovery efforts in her family's native Italy after an earthquake shook the country early on Wednesday (24Aug16).

The pop superstar, real name Stefani Germanotta, was among the celebrities expressing their heartbreak on social media after waking up to learn a 6.2 magnitude tremor had rocked the mountainous and historic town of Amatrice and nearby Accumoli in central Italy.

At least 120 people were killed in the natural disaster, with more than 360 others injured, according to the latest official estimates from Prime Minister Matteo Renzi's office.

Upon hearing the tragic news, Gaga took to Twitter to pledge her support for her ancestral home.

"Praying for the people in Italy who are suffering from (the) earthquake. My family will make a donation to help repair these beautiful cities," she tweeted, adding an Italian flag emoji.

Other stars to comment on the earthquake tragedy included actress Olivia Wilde, who wrote, "Thinking of everyone in Italy affected by the terrible quake."

"Sad horrific news coming out of Italy after a massive earthquake hit them. Prayers for the beautiful people of the #ItalyEarthquake," added rocker Nikki Sixx, while La Toya Jackson posted: "How devastating 6.2 magnitude #earthquake, #prayers to all affected by the #ItalyEarthquake! Please continue to be #safe!"

And Paula Abdul tweeted: "To the victims of the devastating #ItalyEarthquake ..to their families friends & loved ones: my prayers are w/ (with) you & my heart is for you... I'm so grateful for the doctors, nurses, rescue workers, volunteers &ANYONE helping & being of service during this crisis."

I due gemelli spagnoli Jesús e Daniel hanno numeri record sui social. E ora sono pronti a conquistare le teenager del nostro Paese (Italia)

Non li conoscete ancora? Non preoccupatevi. Fino ad ora i Gemeliers (duo formato da Jesús e Daniel Oviedo Morilla) sono passati dal nostro Paese solo in poche occasioni. Quella più importante, forse, la loro partecipazione al Coca-Cola Summer Festival lo scorso anno, quando - davanti al pubblico italiano - hanno presentato il loro singolo No hay nadie como tú. Ma ora, che state leggendo queste righe, non avete più scuse. Anche perchè i due gemelli spagnoli fanno sul serio e hanno intenzione di tornare molto più spesso nel nostro Paese.

Un'occasione per incontrarli è stata qualche giorno fa ad un evento (al LunaRossa di Alessandria), organizzato dall'azienda di moda Tatù (realtà impegnata in alcuni importanti progetti sociali). Durante il loro showcase, i Gemeliers sono stati circondati da tantissimi fan arrivati da tutta Italia. 

I Gemeliers hanno numeri record sui loro social: sul loro canale YouTube, per esempio, sono arrivati a oltre 33 milioni di visualizzazioni. Un successo, il loro, facilitato dalla partecipazione al talent show La Voz Kids (la versione spagnola di The Voice, ma dedicata ai più giovani), dove - nonostante non siano arrivati alla vittoria - si sono fatti conoscere come un duo di talento e, perchè no?, anche dall'immagine accattivante. I due gemelli, infatti, hanno riscosso fin da subito una grande attenzione dal pubblico. Una prova è il loro primo album, "Lo mejor està por venir", acquistatissimo in Spagna.

Come è stato annunciato, quest'estate i Gemeliers stanno lavorando sul nuovo disco che uscirà a breve. Staremo a vedere! 

Jesus and Daniel Oviedo Morilla are the Spanish twin brothers known as Gemeliers. Now reaching record numbers on their social (33millions views on youtube), their success is partly due to the talent show "La Voz Kids" (the Spanish version of "The Voice"). They have been to Italy only a few times so far, but planning to return more and more often; the last performance there was in Alesssandria. The firt album, "Lo mejor està por venir", was very successful in Spain. Now the twins are working on the new disc.
