Going to gigs makes you happier, new study finds

Communal music engagement found to help subjective wellbeing

A new study has found that attending concerts regularly is likely to make you feel happier about your life overall.

The study, conducted by researchers at Victoria’s Deakin University, is titled 'If you’re happy and you know it: Music engagement and subjective wellbeing'. It saw 1,000 people surveyed, finding that "engaging with music by dancing or attending musical events was associated with higher [subjective wellbeing] than for those who did not engage with music in these forms".

 The report continues: "The findings also emphasised the important role of engaging with music in the company of others with regard to [subjective wellbeing], highlighting an interpersonal feature of music."

"The insight gained from these findings can be used to inform future interventions and to better understand how music is involved in emotional regulation."

Los Rolling Stones han anunciado el estreno de “Havana Moon”, nueva película que documenta su histórico concierto gratuito en La Habana, Cuba, el 25 de marzo de 2016. Una actuación que el grupo dio para una multitud de más de un millón.

“Havana Moon” ha sido filmada por Paul Dugdale y se va a estrenar en cines de todo el mundo una sola noche, el viernes 23 de septiembre.

“El show de Cuba fue simplemente increíble. Fue un momento increíble; un enorme mar de gente tan lejos como el ojo podía ver. Se podía sentir el zumbido del entusiasmo de la multitud y eso fue para mí lo másdestacado”, ha comentado un entusiasmado Mick Jagger. “Está el sol, la luna, las estrellas, y los Rolling Stones”, ha dicho Keith Richards.

Como es lógico, en un país tan poco acostumbrado a eventos de este tipo, la actuación del quinteto inglés se saldó con furor, con triunfo absoluto. En el vídeo de abajo se puede apreciar bien el ambiente que se masticaba, las ganas de rock y de fiesta que se respiraba en La Habana.
